Magnifique statue en bois représentant un homme entouré de singes.

le Personnage est chauve sur le dessus du crane avec des longs cheveux raides sur la couronne. Son visage est énergique et riant. Il est appuyé sur un long bâton sculpté, et est chaussé de socques (sandales). Sa tunique, croisée sur la poitrine a de larges manches et retombe en plis sur ses hanches. Dans sa main gauche, il porte une bourse et sur son épaule un singe. Un autre singe, plus petit, est accroché à sa taille.

Il est posé sur un socle rectangulaire, nervuré. Au-dessous, il est estampillé d'un sceau en ivoire encastré, gravé.

Splendid wood statue representing a man surrounded with monkeys

The character is bald on top with long stiff hair on the crown. His face is energetic and laughing. He is leaning on a long carved stick, and is fitted with sandals. His tunic, crossed on the chest, has broad sleeves and falls down in folds on his hips. In his left hand he holds a purse and on his shoulder sits a monkey. Another smaller monkey is hanging on his waist.

He is standing on a ribbed rectangular base. Below, there is an embedded and engraved ivory sea.
